I looked out over the scarred and dusty land, the air filling my lungs as I took a long, deep breath. I looked down, over the edge of the airlock and at the large scar in the ground that my ship had made.

"Ah, there's the ground. Good thing I brought rope."

I turned from the screen and strode back towards the corridor, the bridge doors opening slowly and halting their movement somewhat unfinished.

"That's not good. Power must be cycling down."

I awake quickly, sitting up with sword in hand upon my bed and scan the room, a moderately loud buzzing noise disturbs the silence, that dream, my only dream, stalking the nights and stripping them of any rest, if only it was a dream or maybe that's what the past is, an everlasting dream.
